He discoverd a sabatour. One lunch time, he and co worker were in a locker room
for lunch. There was no one else there. They heard ticking and called in security who found a bomb. Fortunately it didn’t explode. Dad's job was to be sure work was satisfactory. Many times he found and reported screws that were stripped or slightly broken off in parts of wing sections of P- 38s. These he reported. Can you imagine anyone doing this! Our U.S. Air Force men could have been killed with faulty air craft if not found.
