Warren was raised on a farm near Hardin MT. His father raised corn and the black birds liked the corn, so Warren would shoot
blackbirds, he became a good shot, that is how come he ended up in the Air Force as a belly gunner.

While in Japan, he was a flight clerk on the C-54 plane that General Douglas MacArthur and General Wainwright flew on, to put
in their flying time every month. He even got to serve them lunch.
