He was part of the occupational force in Japan. He brought home a "war bride"
and their first child was a gorgeous little angel who currently works on the genealogy chats. He served in the Korean and Viet Nam conflicts also. He instilled a strong commitment to family and country.
His son is currently a Colonel in the Air Force, soon to retire and the angelic one married a Viet Nam Vet.
Being
a military "brat" had it's trials, but I think that each of us wouldn't trade those experiences for the world. We might not
have had roots, but we had determination and the ability to bloom where we were planted. And the pride of our country and our military forces will remain with us forever.
