Subject: Thweatt Family in Tallapoosa Co., AL
Posted by:Sherri Williams <Luvs2teachfirst@aol.com> on Tue, 08 Oct 2002
I am looking for a kindred connection to my gr gr aunt, Anna Thweatt. Anna was the daughter of Charles Thomas Thweatt, Sr. and Anna L. Roberts. She was born in 1863 or 1864 in Dadeville, Alabama. She married Alfred P. Lucas in 1883. He was a train conductor. They had two sons, Bob and Sherman. This family was last placed in the Atlanta area, after a 1901 mention of them living in Atlanta in the local Dadeville, AL newspaper. They seem to have vanished after that. I cannot find them in the 1900, 1910, or 1920 AL or GA census records. An older Thweatt family member says that her dad, Clarence Spear Thweatt, who was a half brother to Anna, had seen her obituary in the Atlanta Constitution...just don't know what year.
I would appreciate any information that anyone may have on my mysterious Anna...by the way, up until she was 12 years old, she was known as Amarinthu...after that she took on her late mother's name.
Hope to hear from someone soon,
Sherri Williams
