looking for my heritage

My father, Donald Martin Simmons, just past away. I didn't know him well and thus no little about my heritage. I know that my grandparents were: Donald Wayne Simmons and Shirley Simmons-Bryson (2nd hubby: Edward Bryson). I know they were from Lincoln, NE--I think. I know my aunts live there today. They are not forthcoming with any family information. Any help in tracking this line down would be greatly apprecited.
