Leonard and Barbara Shoun

Posted by Sharon Shown <sharonshown@yahoo.com> on Mon, 16 Feb 2009

Have available much information on the lineage of Leonard and Barbara Shoun from the ancestry of Johannes Schaun of Palatine, Alsace, Germany it is believed Some of the ancestors believe that Johannes Schaun arrive at the port of Philadelphia on 09/26/1741 on the ship "St. Mark' bound from Rotterdam. They settled in the York County, PA area and Johannes married a 2nd time in 1743 to Anna Marie Kohler and had a daughter, Elizabeth. Barbara's father was Johann Friedrich Slemp, also from the Palatine area of Germany, and her mother was Mary Metz, from Kandel, Germany.
There is a SH-N Family Association that is open to all Sh--n cousins. The Sh--n Familled Association is speeled that way because of the variations in the spelling of the name. We have many who spell or have spelled their names "Shown". There are cousins who spell their name "Shawn" and they are in the Texas, Okalahoma and Oregon area. The greater number of descendants spell their name "Shoun"
