Shird family

I am a Shird by marriage. My husbands mother gave him her last name. She was born in Virginia, I believe. We had someone call us in 2000 from England asking about our last name. I would love to learn more about the Shird family for my children. My mother-in-law has no family records. feel free to e-mail me.
