Zatarain

Yo desciendo de María Vicenta Pereira y Zatarain, natural de Santander. Vino a Puerto Rico con su esposo en el 1822, con el Golpe de Riego. Su esposo se llamaba Manuel María de la Sierra. Tuvo un hijo en España, Manuel Fermín de la Sierra y Pereira, en el 1820 y ella murió al poco tiempo de establecesrse en Puerto Rico en el 1822. De ella nos queda una acuarela con su imagen y un medallón para guardar retratos. Creo que en la acuerela se puede ver el medallón que después uso su nieta (Inés María de la Sierra) y luego y su archi tataranieta Cristina Turnier-Vallecillo cuando terminó sus estudios universitarios. El medallón pasará a ella.
Me gustaría saber algo más del nombre. Según uno de mis profesores universitarios es de origen vasco y es el nombre de un pueblecito en las Vascongadas. En relaidad era su madre la que era Zatarain, pero no sé el nombre.
Hace muchos años que vivo en EEUU, pero mi familia y su historia me persiguen y me dan mucho placer. Gracias por cualquier información sobre el nombre y su origen. María Fernanda Vallecillo (Marifé)
