William Ward born around 1875 Pitt County

Posted by Lynne Garrett <CGAR360753@A0L.COM> on Sat, 19 Jul 2008

I have been searching for my Great Grandfather William Ward. He was born around 1875. His father's name was Wilson Ward, and his Mother's name was Martha. I found William in the 1900, 1910, & his final Census, the 1920 Census, but I am looking for him in the 1880 Census. I sent off for his Marriage license to my Great Grandmother Lizzie(Eliza)Wilson, and it listed his father's name was Wilson. I found out his first wife died, and he remarried in 1916. I sent off for his marriage license for the 1916 Wedding as well, and it had a person as a witness on it by the name of Elisha Ward. I dont know if Elisha was his brother, or his father's brother or some other kind of kin. I want to see if William has any brother's or sister's in the 1880 Census. I dont know when his Mother or Father was born but if you can help me locate Wilson & Martha in the 1870 or 1880 Census......and William there son in the 1880 Census that would help. They lived in North Carolina in the Pitt County area. Their race is black. Thanks in advance.
