Name Meanings
Posted by Neisha on Sun, 31 Jul 2005, in response to neisha in australia, posted by Neisha on Mon, 25 Jul 2005
HI there... My name is Neisha too - and I must say, like the rest of you, that is is wonderful to find others out there :-D I have a weird obsession with names, so I have looked ours up for quite a while and found many different meanings. I am not going to vouch for the veracity of the definitions, but here goes:In Thai -
*In Thai, the word "Neisha" means "independence," "individualism," and "uniqueness," (that was directly stolen from the website!)
In Native American Indian (who knows which one... apparently the idiot who wrote the article thinks all tribes are the same):
* Little Princess
* Running Water (though I was told this by my mother, I think, which makes the information highly suspect in my mind!... But I still like it :-D)
In East Indian:
* Starry Night (I got that info from the elderly lady next door when I was growing up. She was from India, so that makes me think she might have known... though really, I don't know what the name Karen means and that is a typical English name, so who's to say {mental note - find out what Karen means])
That's All I have for now... if I find more I will post it. Best of everything to you others out there!
