Sternagle family from Mass.

I am looking for any information about my grandfather, John D. Sternagle. He lived in Mass. but we believe he was sent to live with foster parents (his real last name may not be Sternagle, it may be the foster parents name). He ran away when he was about 12. I believe his birthdate is 11/5/11. He has been deceased for many years now. Thanks!
