I saw your post only today.

My grand mother name was Hildegard Mailich, and marryed Haim Altmann.

She came to Brazil in1939.

Her mother was Betti and his father Gustav Mailich.

Maybe we are relatives.

  Ureka....I think I've lost cousins.

  I had an aunt Hilda, my mother's (Lotte/Charlotte) sister, who emigrated to Rio de Janeiro and our family lost touch. I do remember now that her married name was Altman. There were two other sisters: Margot (who perished in Germany) and Ruth (who lived in London but mum never kept in touch with).

  I only met my aunt 'Hilda' once and deeply regretted that my mother had not kept in contact with her South American family or sister Ruth. My mother died 5 years ago and I never had any details of her South American sister.

  Your grandmother is my aunt! Do let me know any further details. Are you still living in Brazil?
