marriage/birth

I am looking for information on Henry C May and Delitha may we beleive her maiden name was Kitchens, It's possible her first name could be Belitha. we also have information they were both born in leake county. I found them in the 1870 census. the census indicated they were living in Carthage, Leake county Ms. and had one female child Tennessee listing her age a 8/12 placing her birth in 1869.Is it possible someone out there has some information on them, also can anyone tell me if marriage/birth records were kept during that time if so where can i obtain copies of them.
