signatures to match

hello,to anyone who knows????the answer to this question ..i have been looking for dad for over 44 years yes thats forty four...my dad and i have the same surname ..frederick...i think my question is if i may have found a match through only a signature with mine and his is identicle..is that common or not..he is bieng nonresponsive to letters and any calls leave us with a hang up and or just plain NO he has the same last name also (luongo) so to sign our name the same also seems to me seems very, very, unusual and that i have not told him yet.....
