Dear friends, my name is Kostis kalivas son of Athanasios Kalivas and Kalliopi Cafoussis, born in 1966 at Heraklion Crete Greece and still live there. Five years ago I started a fascinating and very motional journey trying to find out any clues about both my families (Kalivas and Cafoussis). Unfortunately for my father's family the informations are very little. For my mother's family I had more luck but still not enough for me...
I'd appreciate If anybody could help me in this research. Both my grand parents John Cafoussis and Cyriacoula Macarona born at Alatsata, emigrated in U.S (01/06/1910 and 11/13/1914)and went to Fort worth Tx where they married and had two children. According to the 1920 U.S Census they still were in U.S. We suppose that in that year they returned at their homeland at Asia Minor. After 1922 they stayed until 1923 at Chios island and then they came to Crete where they lived till their death (1946 and 1972).They had 8 more children, now 6 living (among them my mum).If anybody has any piece of information about the period of their life at U.S. or after 1920 till 1922 at Alatsata I'd be obliged to know!!! we also look forward to hear from fellow - Alatsatians from all over the world.
