MULLANEs of Ireland and Canada
Posted by ginny eakin <ginnyeakin@csonline.net> on Fri, 13 Feb 2004, in response to Mullane and variants, County Cork, posted by Helen McNamara on Thu, 12 Sep 2002
I am not sure if my Mullane's are related to your's but the only way to find out is to ask you!.
1823 Peter Robinson ship left Ireland to Ontario Canada (free land allotments by the government) and there was a Jeremiah and Johanna Mullane that settled I think in Emily Twp, Ontario, but a check in 1826 shows they left, possibly for USA, but I am not sure.
MY MULLANE's are: Catherine and Michael Mullane,of Adare, Limerick, Ireland and they came in 1825 on Ship STAR to Ontario, theywere Catholic. They settled all prearranged by Mr. Robinson, in City of Norwood, Asphodel Twp, Peterborough County, ONtario Canada. Their children : Michael, William, Maurice(c/a 1805), Thomas, Mary and Denis(b. c/a 1816)***Denis is my grgrgrandfather.
I know nothing of their Irish families they left behind, and it would be nice if I could find them. I do know a Mr. Keating shows up in 1826 living with them, so perhaps he was Catherine's father???
Thank you for your time.
Ginny
