Family Name

Posted by John McAree <mcareejohnmc@talktalk.net> on Fri, 19 Jun 2009, in response to McAree, posted by Elizabeth Young on Sat, 05 Feb 2005

Hi all my John Mcaree from Ramsgate, Kent, England. My father is Patrick Joeseph McAree born 17.03.1929, Belfast. As you can see last St. Patricks days he was 80 years old and still going strong. His brothers were John Mcaree (unfortunately died a couple of years ago) and Tommy.
Any how My Dad told me that McAree means the Son of the King and goes back to the Black Prince of Ireland.
I'll try to see if he knows any more details and if so I'll post the info on here.
The one thing I'll say is that when any of our relatives from Belfast visit I've never seen a more closer loving family. It makes me very proud to think that I have the same blood!
