Teague

Posted by Valerie Taylor <vtaylor53@sbcglobal.net> on Sun, 14 Jun 2009

Hi! My grandfather, born I think in 1909 around Holdenville I think, was Edgar Lee Teague. His mother was reported to be full-blood Indian, of what tribe I don't know. Father left before his birth, name was James (Lee or Edgar) Teague, lived around Madill, had one other child, a son who had one daughter, Juanita. My grandpa was his mother's first born of many children. She died in childbirth and grandpa raised 2 or 3 of his youngest siblings. I am looking for relatives or those with knowledge of his mother who changed her name a couple of times, my grandpa told me her name was Amanda at one time. She had to have died sometime in the 1920's She had other children with surnames of Brooks and White that I know of. She had one sister who survived until I was a young adult named Lula. I have searched census records and cannot find anything. Any information would be appreciated.
