Briggs family in kansas

Posted by Alli W. <ausetkatrina@gmail.com> on Sat, 13 Jun 2009, in response to Briggs, posted by Paula Briggs on Tue, 02 Jun 2009

I am new in researching my family tree. I have a LOT of family in Kansas surrounding the Topeka area, namely two family called Briggs and Calderwood.

The Briggs name comes down through my maternal grandmother (it was her maiden name). I do not remember her father's full name, but if my information is correct he married a Mable Sutter... There was also some mention of the name having some connection to a "Hawke" family??
