Walter Clifford Harland c1903 & Harry Clifford Harland b.1932

Posted by louisa harland <louisa.harland@ntlworld.com> on Mon, 11 Aug 2008

Hi to all the Harland's out there.

I am trying to research my husbands Harland family, so far i know his father was Harry Clifford Harland b.1932-2001. Harry married in 1995 in Darlington, county Durham, aged 62 and he was a chef. His fathers name was Walter Clifford Harland and on the marriage certificate he is decreased and was a retired council worker. I believe that Walter Clifford Harland was married to a Florence Masterman in 1927 in Pickering, Yorkshire.

If anyone has any information about these two guys, i would be very grateful and if anyone knows the names of the parents of Walter Clifford Harland that would be brilliant too.

And if you are related to them, it would be great to hear from you too.

It is rumoured that my husbands family is related to the great shipping family but how they are i am at the moment unsure of. It can't be the great Edward James Harland himself, cos i'm sure i read somewhere that he and his wife Rosa (Wann) has no children. So it must be one of Edward's brothers, but which one? It would be great to find out.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message and thank you for any assistance you may be able to give me.

kind regards
Louisa Harland
