I'm the President of the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum, the largest institution of its kind in the U.S. We are currently identifying Mexican sports figures. I am trying to find out if Leo Araguz, the kicker, is Mexican. You mentioned that you met him, but didn't mention if he is related to you. Could you please email me whether of not Leo Araguz is related to you and therefore Mexican.
Gracias!!!

Hi all

Alex Araguz

I've been reading a lot about our last name and it appears that we originate from Croatia. The name appears written in different variations because of the many travels the mariners had through out the world. Thus, however they could pronounce it, they spelled it. Arague, Zaragosa, Argooz, etc. The voyages are linked back to the mid 1500's or so. If im in-accurate, please let me know, other wise our coat of arms hails from Croatia thus linking us there. My theory on how we landed in Spain is simple. The officers in charge of these mariners were Spaniards and the Ragozans, ( us ), followed and made our homes there. That's just a theory judging from what I read.

I am from Dubrovnik, Croatia... My mother is Raguž and she is from Stolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where your grand grand grandparents lived too. So you are from there!!!!!
If you have any questions you can contact me. And I will help if I can.
