  Hi,

  I'm the President of the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum, the largest institution of its kind in the U.S. We are currently identifying Mexican sports figures. I am trying to find out if Leo Araguz, the kicker, is Mexican. You mentioned that you met him, but didn't mention if he is related to you. Could you please email me whether of not Leo Araguz is related to you and therefore Mexican.

I was just writing cause i was looking for more of the araguz family.I saw your name in the Genealogy forum.I have been a great fan of the oakland raiders for the longest time and i never knew that there was someone by that last name that played with that team until an uncle of mine told me that your last name was araguz. I am related to all the araguz family in Mcallen Texas.I have some family in washington too. I sure hope that I am related to you too. Imagine me telling all my friends that i had a cousin that played with the oakland raiders.I sure would be popular. I know that you are not with them any more. they have alot of fans here. i live in perris california.           My father told me that I was related to the Araguz in Mcallen Tx. My name is Billie Araguz-Webb I live in Port Clinton, Ohio my grandparents were Simmon and Carmen Araguz I have only met a few of the Araguz during my gradfathers funeral which was 17yrs ago so I don't remember any of them because I was young. Just wanted to know if you were one of the Araguz that I am related to.

      As near as I can figure, Araguz definetly sounds like a full blooded Irish name. Then on the other hand it sounds like it might possibly be from a lost Mongolian Tribe in Northern China. There is also a possibility that it might be an Egyptian name. It just does not make sense to me that a person born in the Rio Grande Valley of Tejas, formerly Mexico, would possible be of Mexican heritage, therefore also Native American. What's in a name? I remember meeting a laplander from N.W. Europe near Norway by that same last name. TDC My last name is Cleary, sounds Irish, but I am Native American

    So, your grandmothers madien name is Araguz. I wonder if your grandmother and my grandfather Juan Araguz are related. How old is your grandmother? My grandfather passed away when I was a child. I am 33 years old now.

      hi everyone, i just finished reading a passage that stated the name Isabel Araguz dated back to the mid 1500's. Well thats my grandmothers name, and my aunts name...and my baby girls name...pretty kewl huh? i hope that when she grows up, she will realize that her name dates back almost 600 years...very interesting i thought....
