Australian Gurnhills - not sheep thiefs!
Posted by Anna Gurnhill <agurnhil@postoffice.utas.edu.au> on Thu, 02 Aug 2001, in response to Gurnhills, posted by Philip Gurnhill on Sat, 28 Jul 2001
Hi Philip,
I'm an Australian Gurnhill and I'm not a sheep thief!
My father and grandparents emigrated from England in the 1950s or early 60s. We have no Gurnhill convict ancestors if this is what you are referring to in your posting. As far as we know, we're one of the only Gurnhill families in Australia, and so are the sole representatives to whom you are referring. There are five of us Gurnhills in Tasmania -my dad, mum, brother, sister-in-law, and me. Could you explain what you meant by Australian sheep-stealing Gurnhills?
Anna Gurnhill - A proud Australian, and not a sheep stealer!
