Grandfather Ambrose Del Rio Gutierrez

Iam looking for any information on my grandfather Ambrose Del Rio Gutierrez, I have been told ever since I can remenber he was a senator from Chihuahua,Mexico and he came to the United States to escape religious persecution.And he did not come as most do today but drove his car into the USA.And Married my grandmother(Romero) whose family was from Texas.Than settled in East Los Angeles. Where he was a shoe maker until his death in 1958.
