Gillanders of Monaghan, Ireland

Posted by Jack <jack.storey@btconnect.com> on Fri, 29 Dec 2006

Having copied the Records of several Presbyterian Churches in North Monaghan, I am amazed at the number of "GILLANDERS" who are listed in these Records. I spoke with one of the Elders of a church & he informed me that the name in this area originated with one Scottish Settler back in the 1700s. Whoever he was, his ability to produce long lines of males in his line was phenomenal.
