Last name Stayton

Posted by Rebecca Stayton <rebeccastayton@hotmail.com> on Mon, 24 Aug 2009, in response to last name origin, posted by April Stayton on Fri, 21 May 2004

From my research, I found that the last name Stayton originates from the Irish surname Eustace. First seen in prominence as the Viscounts Baltinglass, the name is derived from Latin and Greek names meaning fruitful and orderly. There are many derivatives of the name, such as Stanton, Staunton, Stacey, etc...Hope this helps!
