Family Tree

I would like to start a search of my roots, especially my American Indian heritage. According to my father, I am 1/32nd Indian. I have always felt connected with my Indian side especially. I have been told that my heritage is Irish, English and American Indian (possibly Otoe). With my family, it's hard to tell. I really know very little about my family background on either side -- maternal and paternal. My father's name was James Edward Clark. According to records I have seen, he could have been born in either Oklahoma or Texas in 1925. My mother's maiden name is Juanita Helen Clements (or Helen Juanita Clements -- she switched her first and last names somewhere along the line -- not legally that I know). My maternal grandmother was Beulah Edwin Brown Clements -- her married name -- my maternal grandfather was Reese Clements. My mother, Helen Juanita (or Juanita Helen) Clements was born April 9, 1930 in Pocola, Oklahoma. My maternal grandmother, Beulah Edwin Brown I believe was born in Alabama in 1895. On my father's side, are the Quisenberry's. Most of these names are very comment, with the exception of Quisenberry possibly. I just need a starting point. I had a cousin in Muskogee, Oklahoma, who was working on my maternal side of the family tree most of her life. Where it went when she died, I do not know. Her name was Helen and my mother was named for her. I do know that most of the Clements live in the southern U.S. although it has been over 40 years since I have any contact with them. As far as I know, most of my history is from the south. This is all I can give you now, but if you will provide me with specific search perameters, I will try to find out what I can from my living relatives. I would like to search both my maternal and paternal backgrounds, but just have no idea how to start. Mine is not a close or connected family.
