MEANING OF AFRICA

Is it not a sad state of affairs that there are those, myself included, who dare to find some meaningful translation for the term Africa? As if we could derive some liberation from our fetters or some excuse for the burden we bare by its utterance. If words and their proper utterance be power, what power would manifest, what liberation would come to those who inhabitant the continent or the offspring thereof? Would it not be more fitting to refer to the landmass of Africa as God's Land and the children thereof the Children of God? What would Adam call the land of his birth but the land of God? Would it have been thought otherwise by his immediate descendents? To what purpose, whose purpose would it serve then and now, to refer to that land mass which is commonly called Africa, by any other reference then the land of God? One could hardly muster a flock of hungry chickens to the cry of Africa. But call out loud to the son’s of Adam, all of which are the son’s and daughters of God’s Land “Mother Earth”, and our search for meaning would have new meaning and purpose.KMT
