Posted by Elizabeth Linear <blu_katt@yahoo.com> on Mon, 04 Jul 2005, in response to Lanier/Linear Family, posted by Elizabeth Linear on Thu, 24 Feb 2005

I have been doing research and this is what I have found:

My great-great grand parents were Eli (born in AL) and Emma White Lanier (she was born in AL, but her parents were born in GA). The 1900 Census tells me that Eli had a brother named Alfred. In 1900, Alfred was the head of a household that included him and his widowed mother Sarah (identified on 1910 and 1920 Census as Sallie). Sarah was born in either 1820 or 1826 in North Carolina. I never found what her husband's name was, but he was born in Georgia.

In 1910 Alfred Lanier was said to be 64 years old and a widower. The following people were in the Alfred Lanier Household:

*Harvey Lanier (1910 Census says “Griscol”) - grandson age: 8
*Alberta Lanier (1910 Census says “Griscol”) – granddaughter age: 6
