Caucasian + Holland

Posted by Alfred Swint <alfred.swint@wanadoo.nl> on Wed, 02 Mar 2005, in response to Sara & Rebecca Swint, posted by Rebecca Swint on Thu, 14 Oct 2004

Hello Rebecca,

I live in the Netherlands, near The Hague. The family name Swint comes from Holland, specially in the Northeast province of Groningen. My greatgrandfather moved from Groningen to Zeeland (Vlissingen) and he got five sons. One of them was my grandfather and he and his brothers also had some sons. As far as I know every son had at least two sons. So I have a lot of relatives with the same familyname. Some of them I know, others not.
The name Swint comes indeed from a German/Scandinavian word. It has a meaning related to the word strength.
greetings from Alfred Swint, 48 years from Rijswijk, Holland.
