Posted by DRM <redibis@onebox.com> on Tue, 18 May 2004
If you are descendant of any of the black (or some black blood since many had lots of white ancestry) Evans from Virginia; please post. Common firstname in my family would be Burrrell Evans Sr. married Ida Mae Wooden (or Wooten. she had one brother name James Wooden/Wooten who was "adopted" by the Evans family and may have changed his lastname to Evans upon moving to Hoboken, NJ whereabout unkown). Burrell had about 14 siblings and had many children some children names were Octavia Evans Saunders (deceased), Julia Evans (deceased), Burrell Jr (deceased), Emmitt (decendants unkown), George (deceased was killed by brother in law in NYC; had one son - George Jr. would be about 63 years old -whereabouts unkown), Robert Evans.Burrell Evans Jr. had 10 children with Martha Hamlin Evans. Some names were James Thomas (Buddy), Thaddeus (Bug), Julia, Doris, Annie Laura, Helen, Willie Mae, Virginia Mae....
Any of these names ring a bell?
