geechee descent

i've been told every since i can rememeber i was a geechee. not know what a geechee is or was i always shoved it off. now i would like to know how do i find out if i am of geechee descent. my husband father also says it's in their family and my deceased mom told me and my father says it also. but they're to old to look into it. how can my husband and i find out more info or where to start. my mothers maiden name is lewis, married taylor. my father maxie taylor, my father inlaw is john henry robinson and mother frances mae burress. please help anxious!!!!
