searching for sheftons

I am new to art of tracing ones family tree. My husband is a shefton,(born in 1961) formerly from conneticut and I am just beginning to search for his fathers side of the family so I can pass his history on to our sons. Any information would be a help. I have registered with www.afrigeneas.com/surnames/. Wish us luck.
