For 9 years I have sailed the Cyber-seas. Exploring the various uncharted corners of this vast wasteland. Over the years I have met hundreds of other Cyber-Explorers. Since becoming a Genealogical Junkie I have discussed roots with hundreds of other folks, I have exchanged greetings and hugs with more people than you would think is possible. I have met people that are always helpful, I have met people that are always cheerful. I have met people that are always willing to help you in some small way. Every once in a while you will meet someone that is both helpful and always cheerful. Occasionally you will run across a person that is cheerful, helpful and willing to help you in some small way. If you are lucky you will meet someone that has all of these qualities and is willing to walk that extra mile for you. I would like to share a story with you.
I met Ms. Ears in a chat room a few years ago. I was hosting a room at the time and she was still learning to do online genealogy. As time grew we became friends, her constantly cheerful nature made her a favorite of lots of people and hosts. I nicknamed her "Ms Ears" after I discovered she worked at Disney Florida. In 2000 my family and I took a trip to Disney Orlando, Ms Ears sent us detailed instructions on what to see and how to avoid the long lines and see all the best sites, she even asked her friends to watch for us and to help make sure we got to see the best part of the park. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Ms Ears in person, she was sick at the time and begged off. My youngest daughter found a necklace at Disney that she just had to have. Naturally being the tight fisted never give in type of Dad that I am, I bought it for her. It was a nice little silver necklace with her name on it and a little silver Mickey Mouse. Sometime during the trip home the necklace was misplaced. My Daughter was heartbroken. One night in one of the chats I causally mentioned the necklace to Ms Ears. She made a special trip out to the park, her failing health had forced her to give up the job earlier that summer, she found the necklace and sent it to Ashley.
She wouldn't allow us to reimburse her for the necklace, she said it was just her way of saying thank you for being her friend.
Early in 2001 the New "Czarina" of the Beginners hosts started trying to talk me into returning to active hosting, to put in mildly I resisted the ideal. After saying No thousands of times, I said yes but only if I was assigned to work with the newest host (at the time) Host GFS Chrissy, Ms Ears to me. Chrissy was a special person, a joy to work with. I consider myself to be very lucky because I got the honor of working with one of those rare people that are not only always happy but they make everyone around them happy.

Betsey worked at Disney World and loved it.

God looked around His garden and found an empty space.
He then looked down upon the earth and saw your precious face.
He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you would not get well on this earth
again.
He saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb.
He closed your weary eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
Part of us went with you the day God called you home.
