How
Weird Is This?

In
July, 2000, one of my OWEN
cousins was kind enough to drive
me to a cemetery here in
Lancaster County, Nebraska, since
I don't drive and at the time was
on oxygen 24 hours a day. I
wanted to find the graves of my
Great and GG-grandparents -- the
CLARK and CULP families. The
cemetery is not very large and in
a small town. I had only
been there once before in 1974,
for my G-grandma CLARK's burial
(nee CULP). I remembered that she
and G-grandpa were buried near a
pine tree ----much bigger now, of
course. At that time I was not
into genealogy and did not even
know my GG-grandparents were also
in this cemetery.
As my cousin Cindy (who is not
related to this side of my family
tree) was driving slowly through
the cemetery trying to find a
good place to park, I told her to
stop. I just had to go to this
one section because I felt it was
important. This was actually a
bit of a distance from
G-grandma's grave. I walked up to
the back side of a red granite
tombstone and felt compelled to
look at it. Imagine my cousin
Cindy's amazement that I had
found my GG-grandpa Andrew
Jackson CULP's grave! Next to him
were 2 of my G-grandma's
siblings.
I then proceeded to the area I
felt sure was G-grandma &
G-grandpa CLARK's gravesite and
sure enough, I found them and
then I went a bit further and
found GG-grandma & GG-grandpa
J. T. CLARK & Iva E.
(KINCHLOE) and also my G-grandpa
CLARK's brother and wife. Now is
this weird? I have always had
some sixth sense and quite alot
of luck in making cousin
connections, so maybe my
ancestors are helping me find
them........
Now I wish that I could find my
GG-grandma Sciota Belle Maddux
CULP's burial site. She
apparently was not buried in the
same cemetery as her husband.
Maybe someday I will find
her......when she is ready to be
found.
