When
the Emigrant Bank was cleaning
out their basement a few years
ago they found a number of
volumes of early depositor
account records from about 1850
to the 1870s.
The
earliest ones contain a lot of
personal information such as
family members, exact place of
origin in Ireland, ship and date
of arrival in the US. (There are
some individuals from countries
other than Ireland but they're
mostly from
Ireland.)
All
the volumes were donated to the
NY Public Library and
microfilmed. Some places like the
NY Genealogical &
Biographical Society have copies
but unfortunately the Family
History Library
doesn't.
Monica
Bennett has started extracting
them but her database is thus far
very incomplete. See:

(anyone wishing to volunteer is
welcome to
assist.)
Regards,
Charles Sullivan
