When
my kids want snacks, I serve them
in an empty paper coffee filter.
It's perfect for popcorn,
pretzels or cookies, and when
they're finished, I just throw
away the "bowl" -- and the
crumbs! Claire Bush,

Revitalize
old paintbrushes.
If paintbrushes have stiff
bristles, boil them in vinegar
for 15 minutes. Remove from pan,
and let them air dry. Bristles
will be nice and flexible
again.
Quick
recipe helpers.
Keep a few small, individual
serving-size cans of juice;
apple, pineapple, and tomato in
your pantry. They're great for
using in recipes when you only
need a small amount and don't
want to open a big can or
bottle.
Extra
skin lotion.
When the bottle containing your
skin lotion seems empty, don't
toss it. Heat the bottle in the
microwave for just 5 seconds. The
last bit of lotion will pour
right out.
Easier
school cupcakes.
Save time baking cupcakes for
your child's school by making two
batches and freezing one for the
next school event. Then just pull
them out of the freezer, add
frosting, and they'll be ready to
eat in 30 minutes.
Stop
a smoking oven.
To keep an oven spill from
smoking, sprinkle salt on it. The
salt will stop the spill from
getting burnt-on, so when the
oven cools you can just wipe it
up with a damp
sponge.
Easy
label remover.
To remove price stickers from a
newly purchased glass item or
mirror, dip a pencil eraser in
nail polish remover and rub it
over the sticky
stuff.
Herbs
that last.
Dry leftover fresh parsley in the
microwave by placing leaves
between paper towels and heating
for 10 seconds at a time until
dry, but not brown. Store in a
zip-top bag or a small
jar.
More
closet space.
If your closet is a cluttered
mess, try this trick: take the
clothes you can't decide if you
want to keep and store them away
for six months. If you don't miss
the, give them
away.
