2-4 Aug. 2002 – Roadhouse-Mellow Reunion, Caledon, Ontario, Canada

The Roadhouse/Mellow Family Reunion will be 2-4 Aug. 2002 at Pleasant Ridge Farm, 16473 Mount Pleasant Rd., Caledon Ontario, Canada. This is the farm that was homesteaded by our ancestors, William Roadhouse and Elizabeth Crissey in 1820. 13 Aug. 2002 -- Georgia Lunch and Learn Lecture Series

The Georgia "Lunch and Learn" Lecture Series in the State Archives for 2002 has been announced.  Begun in 1993, this is an educational program which features prominent speakers who present brief talks on a wide variety of historical and cultural topics. Lectures are from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the State Archives auditorium, adjacent to the main lobby. These presentations are free and open to the public,

13 Aug.: Metro Atlanta Resources, Cobb County Public Library, Carolyn Crawford, Librarian, Georgia Room; DeKalb Historical Society, Francis Overcash, Archivist; and Gwinnett Historical Society, Joye Quinn, Library Chairperson.

17 Aug. 2002 – Genealogy Workshops, Milton, Ontario, Canada
Rick Roberts will conduct two genealogy workshops on 17 Aug. 2002 at the Global Genealogy & History Shoppe, 13 Charles St., Milton, Ontario, Canada. The first will be on “Using Family Tree Maker Software” from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m..  This is an interactive workshop detailing how to use the program effectively as a research tool as well as for recording information and printing charts and reports.

The second workshop will be from 1:30 to 3:45 p.m. on “Creating a Family History Book Using Family Tree Maker.”  Rick says, “Many family historians undertake a research project so that their family's history will be preserved for future generations. This workshop shows you how to use Family Tree Maker software to accomplish that goal.

23-25 Aug. 2002 – Hambly/Morrison Reunion, P.E.I., Canada

Relatives and friends of the Hambly and Morrison families are invited to be a part of something big and special this summer on Prince Edward Island, Canada.  The first ever reunion of the Hambly – Morrison families is planned for 23-25 Aug. 2002.

It will include the descendants of the Hambly family from England, and the Morrison's of Scotland in a three-day celebration, with fun and games. Also bring old family photos and other family memorabilia to share.

24 Aug. 2002 – Museum Field Trip, Pittsburgh, PA

The Allegheny City Society and Greater Pittsburgh Civil War Round Table will have a Field Trip by bus to The Civil War Museum in Harrisburg on 24 Aug. 2002. Cost is: $50 per person, lunch included. We will need a deposit of $25 per person by April 22, with the balance of $25 due by July 22.
