England

Capital - London

GFS Rhonda and GFS Maria would like to announce the start of bi-weekly mini chats beginning on February 14, 2000, in the England SIG. The England SIG is on Monday nights at 10 PM EST in the Golden Gates Conference Room. (AOL Only)

Starting at the 1/2 hour and for only a few minutes, these mini topics will help research in England. February 14 will be a quick review on "Getting From the US and Canada to England…(how to determine you're really descended from English immigrants)". This will be followed on February 28 with another quick topic on "When You've Determined You're Really Going Back To England With Your Ancestor". These mini talks will not take longer than 5 minutes with protocol requested for that time but free time for questions and follow-up in the remaining 1/2 hour.

Future topics will include but not be limited to:
Origins of Surnames
Tracing of Common Surnames
County Record Offices
Parish Records
Military
Occupations and Guilds

We hope to continue the quick talks for a long time to help all types of research from recent to early years including older records such as Manor Rolls and Records and medieval Times.

These mini-talks will be held every other week, on 4-week months

Rhonda
