I was ready to give up when I heard about a thing in The Yankee Magazine , took a chance and sent in a ques. Found a lost cousin who put me in touch with another who sent me 6 generations of that side of family . Cousin who first wrote pasted away 1 month later. But have keep in touch with others since who have sent me more information. Chance of getting printed is 1out of 50 but worth the chance. Just wanted you to know . Mary

Hello I would like to find proof of my Whelchel/Stockton line once and for all. There is so much confusion on the Stockton/Whelchel family from Virginia and New Jersey. The Whelchel family history says that Anne Stockton was a cousin to Richard Stockton signer of the Declaration of Independence although no New Jersey Stocktons want to believe that this relationship existed. The proof is out there somewhere can you possibly help prove the linage of this family? There are Historical American families in the history besides Stockton. Goudelocks have a historical house in South Carolina. The Parson family goes back to Maryland. The Shields family helped found Pegion Forge, Tennessee. The Tipton family surveyed the Indiana State Capitol. They were some founders of Tipton, Seymor, Logansport, and several other towns in Indiana. Richard Stockton was possibly married before his marriage to Susannah (Witham) Robinson, Stockton, Leanord. There were three children prior to this marriage, one child being Davis Stockton who had a will read in 1762 in Virginia. He died in 1760. Any help with proof would be great. I am looking for information on Jacob GRIMM From Virginia. He had several children: A daughter, Anne moved to Missouri; Darcus in Virginia; John and Martin in Virginia or Ohio; and also I believe maybe another daughter Elizabeth in Virginia. Martin died in 1941.
