Last
month we explained how to attach
a file to your E-mail, so this
month let's look at sending more
than one file at a time (zipping
files together to send as one
attachmemt).
The
purpose of zipping files together
is to allow you to send more that
one file at a time. I usually zip
together all of the same type of
files (.wav, .txt, .jpg) rather
than sending different types
together, but I don't know if it
really makes a
difference.
Actually,
once you know how to attach one
file, the process of attaching
files the procedure is just the
same.
1)
Compose your Email.
2) Click on the Attachments
button on the bottom.
3) This will bring up an
Attachments Menu.
4) Click Attach.
5) Find the file you wish to
attach. You may have to change
the Look In: Box at the top to
find the correct directory where
the file is stored.
6) Click on the name of the file,
then click on OK (or double click
the name of the file)
7) The directory will disappear
and the name of the file will be
shown in the Attachments
Menu.
BUT now if you want to add a
second, third or fourth file (or
more) and have them zipped
together to send:
8) Repeat Steps 5-7 until you
have added all the files you want
to send.
9) Click on OK.
10) Send your Email as usual. You
will see a little screen pop up
and show you that your file is
being zipped and
uploaded.
Next
month we will discover how to
"unzip" files that you
receive.
If
you have any questions on this,
or any of the tips that we have
had, please do not hesitate to
contact me. Also, if you have any
suggestions for something you
would like explained in this
spot, please let me know and if I
have the answer to your query
I'll be more than happy to
address it.
