Hi
Folks,
Wanted
to take a moment to let you be
aware that when you have a
question about doing research
into your family, that we at the
Golden Gates Forum are there to
help, and we are all Volunteers,
and it is free. We are trained,
usually have had extensive
backgrounds in genealogy
searching, and when you visit the
rooms, we you learn from all of
us who have tried different ways
to break down those walls we run
into.
NJ
and New York were major
emigration points for folks
coming to America.
If
you are old or new to genealogy,
join us and we will try to help
find some of those elusive folks.
Learn how to use records, such as
census, vital records that have
been archived, and just how did
your ancestor get their
naturalization papers.
Let's
discuss your brickwalls, and
perhaps we may find the key to
open that gate to finding your
ancestors. Wonder why your
ancestor was in New Jersey one
year or maybe New York, and then
on the next census you find out
that he/she was Kentucky, or
maybe Illinois, or
Ohio?
We
are a friendly bunch and we all
have the same thing in common. We
want to preserve our family
history...and just a wee bit
curious about why or when our
ancestors came over the
"Pond."
We
are G-Rated rooms and the genies
are always wonderful folks. If
you have any questions, we are
there to help.
So
come and visit!
Keyword:
Roots(GF works too), and Click on
Chats>that will take you to
the Daily Line up or the Chat
Schedules.
We
would love to see you in the
NJ/NY SIG (means that you had
folks in either of these states
one time or the
other).
So
when you click on that Chat go to
click on Chat Center then click
on Root Cellar.
First
time there you can always save it
to your favorites...but I go that
way (the long way) so I don't
miss out on all that we have to
offer.
Come
see us! You are most
welcome!
