Dear Family Researchers,

Have you been putting off requesting a "copy" of your relative's application for the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution? You might consider ordering before the price increase takes effect. The $5.00 fee for a copy will be increasing on April 1, 2003 to the price of $10.00. And minimum credit card orders are three record copies for $30.00. Increases in application fees are as of yet to be determined, but they will be forthcoming, too. You can find detailed information and links on eligibility in the NSDAR as well as a printable copy of Request Form [RGR-1000] at the bottom of our F.A. Q. web page at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~steubdar/FAQ.htm or at the National Site: http://www.dar.org/cgi-bin/natsociety/content.cfm?ID=146&hd=n&FO=Y.

And should you find yourself interested in joining the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution with documented research of a Revolutionary Ancestor, visit the NSDAR Home Page at: http://www.dar.org for membership information. You'll find links regarding membership requirements, and as well as a local link and email contact for 2,975 US chapters as well as overseas chapters.

Are you close to documenting a proven DAR ancestor, but can not find a particular document? DAR provides an affordable Search Service -http://www.dar.org/library/search.html with a printable copy of Service Request Form, LG-1000.

Wishing everyone the thrill of a new found ancestor,

NY data

Lorine McGinnis Schulze" <otg@csolve.net>

I'm working on a huge set of records for my new site NaturalizationRecords.com at http://naturalizationrecords.com/

The set of records are Declarations of Intent in New York 1827- 1895, from the Justice's Court, Albany, New York Declarations of Intent are a first step towards finding an ancestor's immigration year, and from there a ships passenger list.

The Index to Book 2 & 3 is being put online as it is transcribed. A volunteer is helping me with this and she deserves a very big "Thank you!" for working so hard.

More names will follow as time permits. For now, you can enjoy the index to Surnames for years 1832-1836 which begins at http://naturalizationrecords.com/usa/nyintent_a1833.shtml

You can also start at the Online Records for New York found at http://naturalizationrecords.com/usa/ny_onlinedb.shtml

I am always looking for volunteers to help with transcribing records. If you would like to help bring genealogy records online for all to use freely, please contact me at otg@csolve.net

Feel free to pass this announcement on to anyone you think would be interested.

The fort was built during the French and Indian War to protect settlers on the frontier. It played minor roles in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.

It was restored during the Great Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The fort is located west of Hagerstown, near Clear Spring, but right along the Potomac River.Tim

NGS PITTSBURG, PA 28-31 May 2003

NGS meets in Pittsburg this year. For those who do not know it covers all states and has researchers that will help you with your dilemna's. If you have not looked into

joining this organization you may be missing some help. They also have a lending library that helps those that are in out skirts of towns and not near NARA's etc.

I recently learned in a SIG that many people had no clue what services are available by joining an organization of this nature. It also has much genealogy that can be helpful to your research. http://www.ngsgenealogy.org/
