Dear
Brenda,
You
have the best website that I have
yet to find. It is absolutely
wonderful. I would like to ask
you something, if it's alright.
To begin with, we found out about
3 months ago that my Mother is
dying, and 3 1/2 weeks ago that
my little Sister (45) also has
terminal cancer, so I am on a
mission. I have located family
records back to my Grandfather's
birth in 1897, but am not able to
get any further. I have his
Birth Certificate and his parents
names but am unable to find any
information about them
whatsoever. My Grandmother's
side of the family was done by
family members in Illinois. What
a task that must have been since
all records prior to 1921 were
burned in the great Chicago fire.
I know my Great Grandfather's
name was John Talbott MOORE and
he was married to Eleanor Belle
McKINNEY. My Grandfather was
born in Webster Grove, MO. I am
doing this out of the love I have
for those whom I am about to lose
and so my Grandchildren will know
from where they came. I do know
that somewhere around 1940 my
Mother was called in to meet my
some of my Grandfather's
relatives, and as she tells it
"she ran from the room screaming
afraid she was about to be
scalped". Any direction you
might give me would be greatly
appreciated. I never expected
this to be so hard. I do what I
can when I am not taking care of
my Mom, or after I get her
settled in for the night. I'm
sorry to have poured it all out
but I truly need help. God Bless
you and Keep you
Safe.
Sincerely,
Lisa
