Will of Job Bishopp, dated November 15, 1692


November 15th, 1692, I Job Bishopp being weake of body, though of perfect memory & right understanding doe give & bequeath my soul to God Almighty, my body to ye earth from whence it came.

Item. I give unto my daughter Mary Bishopp ye one halfe of my land wth ye whole buildings I now live in wd th Tarr & Sumtt & all their increase wth ye feather bedd & the bed & all things thereto belonging, one great iron pott one kettle.

Item. I give to William Elmes ye other halfe of my land wth old Pepper & her stock & young wenchy & her breed.

I give to Paul Child two heifers about eighteen months old, one from the stock of Mary, the other from William Elmes, to be delivered wthin three months after my decease.

Item. I give unto Joseph Child one heifer about eighteen months old & yt if anything else shall be found yt I have foregott yt it may be equally devided betwixt my daughter Mary Bishopp & William Elmes.

On ye 31st March 1693. Letters of Admon: of Est: of Job Bishopp decd:
with his will annexed and warrant of appraisement were granted to Thomas Elmes Planter by the Hon: Phillip Ludwell Governor of ye Province of Carolina.
